Mad for monochrome?

I think it goes without saying that monochrome officially invaded the style scene and it's very quickly become this seasons key fashion trend and everyone from Topshop to Chanel are in on it.

But why are we matching our wardrobes to the gloomy winter weather? Well, it's simple and
flattering and it's completely timeless. Pastel colours were a hit in the summer, however now that
we're entering the colder months, pastel colours don't seem such a good idea (in the rain especially, HELLO SEE THROUGH TOP) yet monochrome is most likely already in all of our wardrobes and as of right now is at the top of it's game and doesn't seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon.

How does one pull off monochrome without looking dull i hear you ask?

Jazz it up. Do anything you like with it. What i'm particularly loving at the moment though is stripes (and yes, stripes can be very flattering). When it comes to wearing stripes many people put it off before even trying it. If you're like me and want something to fit in all the right places and not show off those lumps and bumps that bold patterns love to show off then go with a downwards stripe, it'll slim down the figure making you look longer and thinner (sounds good doesn't it?).

So don't be afraid to make monochrome bold and at the same time don't be afraid to dress down in all black, with the right staple pieces you'll look classy and casual and as if you've stepped straight off the runway.
