Back to college Autumn trends

With the colder weather rapidly approaching after months of keeping the sleeves at bay, it might finally be time to start thinking about an Autumn/ Winter revamp in the wardrobe department. Outerwear is a key element to how we dress during this time of year and i'm sure you'll agree with me that a staple jacket that can be worn with most of your day-to-day outfits is essential and cost efficient.

Black? Well it's classy, it's appropriate for the weather and most importantly it goes with almost anything.. But, do you really want to blend in with the crowd or do you want an item that's going to turn heads but still fit in with the clothes that you already own?

As an example, adding white into the mix of the traditional black moto jacket is one way to make it feel more modern and ladylike - adding in details like lace can really take it up a notch turning a simple, safe jacket into something far more attention grabbing.

Think of a dull colour and the one that may spring to mind is grey. However, this season grey could potentially be your new best friend, especially when it comes to your winter coat. It's not the colour primarily that'll be putting you up there with the top trends, but instead it's all about the style. Call it the 'fifty shades of grey' influence, but this is the go-to neutral for Autumn coats. It can also be the perfect way to give a futuristic flair to your more sporty attire.

So, whatever your style and however you style your wardrobe, there is the perfect coat for everyone out there somewhere, it's just a matter of knowing your trends and colour choices available.

Let us know your must-have, staple Autumn items and how you plan to give your AW14 collection a good make-over
