What's in my make-up bag?

If you read my blog posts regularly, then you'll know that i am completely and utterly obsessed with make-up! So what better way to start the week, than with a 'what's in my make-up bag' post!

Go into any make up store and they'll tell you the benefits of their brands products and that they have exactly what you need. This however isn't the truth my little lovelies (believe it or not)! Every single person has different skin, which means that they require different products to match it. For example, i have naturally very oily skin so i need a mattifying foundation, or an 'oil free' one to make sure that i stay shine free all day! So, here's what i use on a daily basis & a few little tips on how to get the most out of your make-up!

First off, foundation;

I use Maxfactor, Facefininty. A 3 in 1 foundation that consists of a primer, a foundation and a concealer. It gives a very matte, full coverage - however, it doesn't crease on the skin, or give that nasty, 'cakey' look that we all want to avoid!

What i love about this foundation is that as you wear it throughout the day, it looks better and better! One problem i find with foundations is that they can slide off of the skin (especially in the warmer weather) & by the time it gets to midday, you're needing to reapply. This completely isn't the case with Facefinity though, as it provides 24 hour full coverage, and it really does!

For anyone who suffers with oily/combination skin, or just wants a full coverage foundation that isn't going to crease up, then i totally recommend trying this one!

The only thing that i will say about this product is that i often feel the need to use concealer under my eyes as well as the foundation, just to make sure i'm looking 100% awake all day!

Moving on to what i put on top of my foundation, a translucent powder.

Once i've applied my foundation, i like to use a translucent powder just to set it all in place. This is an optional stage if you're choosing to use the Facefinity foundation as it does stay in place without it. What's great about this though is that it is mineral enriched, which means as well as keeping your make-up in place, it's actually doing good for your skin!

This type of powder is also great for those days that you need to pop to the shops and don't feel like putting on a full face of make-up. It gives your skin a clear finish, and it stops it from getting oily.

Next, contour!

As much as i love to contour, i really like to do it as naturally as possible. I tend to avoid the heavy creams and liquid ones as i much prefer to use a foundation and then a powder over the top. I feel like this gives a far more subtly defined look. I use the No17 Define & conquer kit which is an absolute bargain at £4.99 in the UK.

The two powders give a really sleek finish and don't look overpowering (especially for simple daytime looks). It's really easy to build upwards from a 'barely-there' contour, to a full on Kim K cheekbone look.

Moving onto blush...

I am an absolute sucker for NYX products, & their blushes are no exception. My day-to-day, and go to colour is 'apricot', which is a beautiful coral/orange mix that looks lovely on pretty much any skin tone.
Once again, i really like this product because you can really do what you want with it. It can be super light and subtle, or you can really make the most of it and create a dramatic look, it's completely up to how you're feeling!

Now, i was going to move onto eyes, but if you know my blog & you know me, then you'll already know that i use all four of the Urban Decay, Naked palettes on a daily basis. My favourite part of make-up is the eyes, so i can't go a single day without creating a bold look! I've previously done a blog post reviewing all of the palettes, along with a favourites post which included all of my favourite colours and what i use to do my winged liner and dramatic/smokey eye looks. So if you're wondering how/what i do to my eyes everyday then have a look through my recent posts and i'm sure you'll be more than satisfied :)

I'm definitely a nude person when it comes to lips (apart from when i 'vamp out' and wear my MAC 'instigator'), and the Kate range from Rimmel is perfect for them.

The range includes five colours, each of which are suited to different skin tones. I personally wear the lightest shade as i am very pale, but after loving mine as much as i do, i feel as though i might just try them all!

The packaging is also  a favourite of mine as it's extremely simple, but also looks classic and sophisticated.

Last but not least, brows! One of my favourite make-up products is actually quite unusual and i'm sure a lot of you won't believe me when i say this. The best product i have come across for my brows was by total accident as i was given it as a gift. I was really skeptical at first and thought ''this is never going to work'' but turns out it might have just been the best thing that has ever happened to me!! & it is only £1 !!!!

P.S.love brow pencil by Primark. Yes, Primark. I was utterly shocked when i used this for the first time and didn't expect it to perform well at all (sorry Primark). Yet, this pencil is by far the best i have ever used. It has a really creamy consistency, which glides onto the skin for a sleek application, but it's also hard enough to not be wiped off easily.

I use the shade 'medium brown' however i would say that in comparison to other brands of brow pencil, it could easily be considered dark brown. Whether you're a powder, pencil or pomade kind of girl, or guy, i suggest you try out this product before everyone else realises how great it is and the shops are drained of them!

I hope you liked my 'What's in my make-up bag' post, and as always feel free to contact me on Facebook, Instagram or by e-mail if you have any questions!
