My first time using: Rimmel 'Wake me up' concealer - Review

Buying a new product is always risky business, even more so when you've run out of your current product and are relying on the new substitute to do the job just as well! The product i picked up today is the 'Wake me up' anti-fatigue effect + glow, concealer.

I spotted it on the shelf in boots a couple of weeks back. I'd heard good things about it but had never gone through with purchasing it (i'm a sucker for MaxFactor when it comes to concealers). I've also not had great experiences with Rimmel foundations as i often find that they make my skin look very oily. This was kind of an impulse purchase, but you can't really go wrong when it's only a fiver.

The packaging is cute and i love the fact that it has a sponge brush rather than a synthetic fibre brush, i find that it makes the application a lot smoother and you don't get too much product come out of the tube at any one time.

This concealer is creamy, but not too thick; if you've ever used the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, it's similar to tat, but a thinned down version. It can feel quite watery when applied to the face, and if over applied, it can become a bit difficult to blend in, so don't use too much!
I found that it works best for covering redness and small blemishes, however it didn't work particularly great under the eyes as it settles between fine lines. Rimmel claims that it can be used to cover spots, i wouldn't recommend this though as it kind of just sticks to the surface, making it more prominent, rather than masking it.

Overall, i wouldn't recommend this concealer if you're wanting under-eye brightness, but it is absolutely great for redness and skin pigmentation. I don't think i'll be buying it again, but if you do already use it and love it, let me know in the comments if you have any tips on how to get the most from it.
